Photography is my key to a secret garden, hidden away to be seen only by those who look close enough.

Dianne Arbus once said I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them . For that reason, photography is my key to a secret garden, hidden away to be seen only by those who look close enough. I specialize in shooting food because it combines many of my passions: photography, art, cooking, reading, nature, culture, traveling, documentary and family.

What is it that makes me prefer shooting food instead of fashion, architecture, or some of the other unbelievable things that are out there to photograph? Simply put, I love food. I enjoy cooking and playing with food. I want to share the beauty and uniqueness of the many various foods we may think look ordinary, and reveal the wealth of color, texture and life in a more artistic way. I can focus on details that most people tend to overlook and let my creative juices flow, like matching the bright red color of a strawberry with a plain blue background to make it pop. In the field of food photography, you are not only limited to creating an image of food that looks appetizing, but also draws in its audience with a unique piece of art that preserves the balance between abstraction and the representation of reality
